Rocket Independence
Supporting young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities confidently transition into adulthood.
What I do
Is your child exiting the school system?
Are you and/or your child worried about the transition into adulthood?
If so, you've come to the right place.
Hi, my name is Shoshana Roodman the owner of Rocket Independence. I help young adults with disabilities and their families build confidence and independence through customized tools, training, and resources.
Who I am
I'm Shoshana Roodman. As a special educator with over ten years of experience, I strive to empower young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to reach their full potential and create a supportive environment to facilitate their transition into adulthood.
The name of my company, Rocket Independence, was inspired by my beloved dog, Rocket, who symbolizes the love, loyalty, and companionship that I bring to my clients. Rockets also reach for the stars and represent achieving one's full potential, which is the core of my mission. I work with these individuals and their families to provide them with the necessary resources and support so they can reach for the stars!
What they’re saying
It’s so hard to find the words to say thank you to the amazing people who have meant so much to us; but the person to whom we owe the biggest thank you is Shoshana. She chose special education for what felt like the right reason. She wanted to help the students who struggle to learn. She helped my non verbal son with autism learn to slow down, wait for preferred items and communicate his needs.

“Shoshana understands special education from a parent's perspective. She knows the heartache and worry that come when a parent is told her child learns differently. She believed in my son more than I did and we cannot thank her enough for all her support and guidance throughout these past few years.”
